MY story

Hi there! My name is Brittany Cannioto, and I am the face behind the lens here at Through The Lens Photography. I want my clients to feel like I can be their friend, and not just their photographer. I am married to my amazing husband Matt, (we will be celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary this July!) and we have two wonderful children together, Mia who is 2.5 years old and Lucas who turned 1 this year. I am also a fur mom to 3 crazy cats, Bear, Spike and Chloe. We hope to add a dog to our family in the next year as well! When I am not taking pictures, some of my other favorite things to do include, scrapbooking, listening to good music, enjoying a nice cup of coffee and reading. My husband and I also love to travel and go on new adventures together. Even though we are located in Rochester NY, if the opportunity came to travel to another location to work with someone, we would definitely love that! I have been interested in photography for a very long time. I was about 13 when I got my first digital camera, and it went with me everywhere. In high school, I took some photography classes, and this is when my passion really started to grow. In college, I bought my first “professional” camera, and I began reading books and watching lots of videos online to teach myself how to take better pictures. This is also when I started dreaming of one day owning my own photography business. For years I was scared to make my dreams come true. I thought that I had to have everything perfect and in place before I could started pursuing photography as more than a hobby. Then one day, I just went for it. And I have not looked back. I love people, and I would love to be the photographer to capture the things that mean the most to you!
